SR-60/Nason Interchange Improvement, Moreno Valley, CA

FALCON Engineering Services  (FALCON) provided full construction management and inspection services for this project. The work included performing detailed constructability review, management oversight of the fieldwork, quality assurance/control of the completed work, source inspection, safety inspection per Cal-OSHA regulations and enforcement of environmental compliance which included SWPPP, dust control, and execution and cost savings BMPs. 

SR-60/Nason Interchange Improvement project included replacement of the existing Overcrossing (OC) Nason Bridge over the SR-60 Freeway. The project consisted of the bridge construction replacing the existing bridge with double size bridge, PC panel sound walls with unique architectural features supported on 24″ diameter cast-in-drilled-hole (CIDH) piling. Work also included the reconstruction of Nason Street and eastbound on/off-ramps with ramp metering systems, and street light improvements. Also  reconstructed a new signalized intersections of Nason Street at Bluff Street, eastbound & westbound on/off-ramps, and bridge lighting, temporary signals for various stage constructions, ADA compliant ramps, and sidewalks. The project included traffic signal interconnects, planting, irrigation, erosion control, utility coordination, irrigation, and related work, and elaborate/unique hardscaping along all ramps.

The City of Moreno Valley has received a 2014 Project of the Year Awards from the American Public Works Association & CMAA for SR-60/Nason Street.
