Start/Completion Date: 10/2007-7/2009
Construction Cost: $30M

FALCON was a sub-consultant to Harris & Associates and provided Construction Management support. This project consisted of replacing existing La Sierra Overcrossing over the SR-91 freeway and La Sierra Overhead over BNSF railroad tracks with widening La Sierra Avenue between Diana Street and Indiana Street. Work also included a ramp widening and realignment, constructing 12 mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) & CIP-Type-1 retaining walls along ramps and bridge abutments, sound walls, drainage, traffic signals, and street lighting improvements, relocating waterlines, electrical and communications utilities through new bridges.

Construction of the project enhanced the capacity and operation of the interchange. Both the freeway and the railroad bridges were replaced with six-lane structures including dual left turn lanes. The freeway ramps were widened to three lanes. The project required extensive coordination with Caltrans Structures Design Oversight, Construction Oversight, and METS lab for QA/QC oversight.
