The Riverside County Transportation Commission (RCTC), in partnership with Caltrans, proudly announces the opening of the new 71/91 Interchange in Corona.
The new, non-tolled, two-lane eastbound 91 to northbound 71 connector opened to traffic on Saturday morning, June 21, followed by the opening of the newly realigned eastbound 91 Green River Rd. on-ramp this morning, Monday, June 23.
Additional construction activity and lane closures will occur over the next several weeks as crews complete the project. Please continue to follow all roadway signs and watch for crews working along the roadway.
New Interchange Access
After passing Green River Rd. on eastbound 91, stay in the right two lanes to merge onto the new eastbound 91 to northbound 71 connector. Please drive carefully and stay alert for merging vehicles. When using the newly realigned eastbound 91 Green River Rd. on-ramp, use the right lane to enter eastbound 91 traffic, or use the left lane to merge directly onto the new northbound 71 connector. Please drive carefully and remain alert for merging traffic.
Project Background
The new non-tolled interchange is designed to enhance safety, expand access to alternative modes of travel, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improve traffic flow, and support the continued movement of native wildlife through the area.
